For Women
- You leak urine when exercising, coughing, sneezing and laughing. This is called STRESS URINARY INCONTINENCE.
- You feel the need to rush to the toilet frequently and are unable to hold on. This is called URGE URINARY INCONTINENCE.
- You have weak pelvic floor muscles after CHILDBIRTH.
- You have weak pelvic floor muscles due to MENOPAUSE and AGEING.
- You feel a dragging sensation or discomfort down below. This might be a PROLAPSE.
- Your SEXUAL HEALTH and satisfaction has declined due to pelvic floor laxity.
For Men
- You have Urinary Incontinence as a side effect of your PROSTATECTOMY.
- You experience problems with ERECTIONS.
The Emsella chair uses HIFEM [High Intensity Focused Electromagnetic Energy] which works your deep pelvic floor muscles while you sit fully clothed on the chair. One treatment delivers approximately 1,100 pelvic floor contractions resulting in muscle re-education to help restore strength and nerve control to your deep pelvic floor muscles. The chair does the work while you sit and relax. One session is equivalent to doing around 11,000 Kegel exercises in 28 minutes!
While many people are suitable candidates for Emsella pelvic floor treatment, it is not appropriate if you fall into any of the following categories:
- Pregnant or actively trying to conceive.
- Menstruating on the day of your treatment.
- Copper coil contraceptive device [Mirena coil is ok as is a ring pessary]
- Heart disorders.
- Pacemakers, electronic implants, neurostimulators.
- Metal Plates/ implants.
- Hip replacement.
- Malignant tumor.
- Bleeding disorders.
- Anticoagulant therapy.
- Within 3 months of childbirth
- Within 5-6 weeks of surgery
- Skin condition in area to be treated.
- Clinical assessment at your initial appointment indicates other treatment options are more appropriate for your symptoms.
